Throughout the time of being in Shenzhen we had an opportunity to visit Seeed Studio, a hardware innovation platform, which provides accessible technologies with quality, speed and supply chain knowledge.
The tour around the building certainly helped us to understand the vibrant environment, behind those walls and to discover new possibilities on how to realize a fresh idea in a short amount of time and in a low volume manufacturing process. This is a dream world for any up and coming designer and maker as orders can start from 1 to 1,000 pieces including prototyping stage.
Other makerspaces worth visiting/researching are: ARTOP Design, Higgs Hub, Dangerous Prototypes and a Shenzhen first hacker space.
At the time of our stay, we found the Shenzhen Map for Makers very useful and we are sure it might be beneficial one day for you since “Shenzhen is known as the Hollywood of Makers. And Huaqiangbei is a must-go place for visitors to Shenzhen. However, it’s not easy for visitors to find the related factories in Shenzhen. Huaqiangbei is like a huge maze to many.” Seeed Studio
